Tell us a little bit about yourself (as much as you want to reveal!), your work background, your interests…

I have worked in the heating industry for nearly 40 years, the last 20 in the public sector. I follow football, cricket, music and like to travel.

What makes you have a good day at work?

For me, it’s arranging the installation or improvement of heating systems which genuinely improve the living conditions and finances of tenants.

What’s the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council?

I like the flexibility of organising your own work diary and working flexible hours to help with the work / life balance.

Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?

It would have to be fondue sets and fondue Parties!

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?

I did eat sheep eyes in Dubai.

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?

I’d take my guitar, a home brewing kit and an iPad.

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

I skied down the Hanenkamm (Austrian Downhill ski run), it was practically vertical in places and I night dived (scuba) with sharks in Egypt.

If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?

Nikola Tesla, John Lennon, Isombard Brunel and George Mallory (Mountaineer)

What would go into you room 101?

It would have to be golf (sorry)!

What couldn’t live without?

I couldn’t live without good beer.
