Tell us a little bit about yourself – your work background, your interests…
Hi, my name is Lucy and I have been working for Wiltshire Council for 18 months. It is the fourth Local Authority I have worked for since qualifying as a social worker 18 years ago. I have got married and had two children in that time; it all seems like ages ago.
Outside of work I spend my time being a mum which means doing the usual taxi duties. I make sure I get my weekly game of hockey in, it’s how I unwind at the weekend. I have my daughter as the team mascot, she only has 3 years to go and we could see mother and daughter on the same pitch if I can keep going for that long!
What’s the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council?
Wiltshire Council is the first large county wide local authority I have worked for and it has provided me with a host of opportunities in my first 18 months. I also get to travel across some beautiful countryside on my visits to my team hubs.
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
Not so unusual these days but when I was a teenager in the 80’s – “frogs legs”. Even more unusual for me now given that I am a pescatarian.
What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?
I am not sure if children count as items (it’s not how I would normally classify them) but I couldn’t go without my son or daughter. Just in case I want to go for a long swim had better take the husband too!
What would go into your room 101?
Right now I think I would like e-mails to go into room 101, the rationale is self-explanatory and I often wonder how we ever coped before they existed.
