I am currently the acting associate director and have worked for Wiltshire Council since 2002. I have 27 years worth of experience working in both health and social care and I am very passionate about providing services which are truly customer focussed. I really enjoy working for Wiltshire; it is an innovative council with a passion for improving the lives of our communities and I am very proud of our staff and the services that we provide to those communities.

We are very forward thinking in how we deliver our adult social care services. We already have developed an outcome based approach to social care through our Help to Live at Home Service, and are an exemplar of best practice (one of only five local authority areas chosen by the Government) for our Better Care Plan, which will help to develop integrated health and social care for the people of Wiltshire. I believe that the implementation of the Care Act gives us a real opportunity to promote social work as a profession and will enable our social workers to really deliver what they are passionate about.

Our team structures provide staff with variety and the opportunity to work across and within many teams and specialist areas, and for this reason I am very committed to staff development. To support this we have a really good teamworking ethos which provides excellent support for staff and managers.
