Dawn Wakeford meet our people

Tell us a little bit about yourself – your work background, your interests…

What can I say about me! I enjoy being with my family and friends especially if there is a party going on, I like to dance and sing (not very well). In recent years I have re-found the travel bug and when not at work spend time researching exotic destinations planning my next travel adventure. For Christmas I was given a map poster where you can scratch off the destinations you have visited….. so far I have crossed off a few destinations, not an extensive list! But I see it as a start. I enjoy being in my garden pottering about.

Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?

Don’t talk to me about fashion, being a 50 year old, short and roundish lady I can make any fashionable item look as my mother would say ‘like a potato sack tied up in the middle’ …I don’t know what this means.  Designer potato sacks.

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?

In Hong Kong I ate chickens feet and baby octopus…is that unusual

What would go into you room 101…

That’s a difficult one…does it have to be an item or can it be an emotion. I would put Negativity in as it brings everyone around you down.

What’s the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council?

I started to work for Wiltshire Council in April 2000 and have had a number of different roles. For me the people are the best thing, I have met many of my best friends whilst working at Wiltshire Council. In my job every day is different and I get the opportunity to work with interesting, funny and caring people.
