Tell us a little bit about yourself (as much as you want to reveal!) – your work background, your interests…

I have been working for Wiltshire Council since 2012. I work in the HR and OD department for Learning in Wiltshire. I am the lead internal quality assurer for all qualifications that relate to the children and young people’s workforce. I have been in the adult education field for 12 years and have seen many changes in the way qualifications are delivered.  I worked for many years in the private childcare sector working for two of the largest nursery chains. When I am not in work I like to read, do Yoga and Cross Stitching, if it is a special 0ccation or birthday then my colleagues may get a handmade card to celebrate the occasion with.

What makes you have a good day at work?

A good day for me is requesting the certification of a learner’s qualification. This is the end point of all the hard work and commitment from the learner, their employer and of course the vocational trainer assessor who has supported the learner for up to two years to achieve a recognised qualification to support them in their future careers

What’s the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council?

The best thing about working at Wiltshire Council is the flexibility of working from home and in the office.

Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

I have snorkelled off the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

What couldn’t live without?

My cats, I have two Patch and Bob.
