Tell us a little bit about yourself – your work background, your interests…
I have recently become a buyer within the Strategic Procurement hub. It’s been an exciting but busy few months with the office being restructured and I have enjoyed meeting the new team members. Prior to this I joined Wiltshire Council via the Wiltshire Temporary Bank as a Business Support Officer in the corporate office supporting the procurement unit which is where I started to pursue my career in procurement.
Outside of work I live with my husband and two children. We have a busy household with the two dogs, two ponies and cat but I enjoy the mayhem and madness that comes with it. Recently we have discovered a love for exploring and after a successful climb up Snowdon we are looking forward to 2 weeks in the Scottish highlands with a trip up Ben Nevis.
What’s the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council?
We work in an open plan environment and I really enjoy the freedom this gives us to interact with colleagues in different departments that conventional office can hinder.
What makes you have a good day at work?
My colleagues! We have some amazing characters in the office and they definitely make the work day more interesting.
What three items would you take with you on a deserted island
My kindle – Dessert Island, peace and quiet and endless books, sounds ideal!
Mobile phone – to phone home to ensure the husband feeds the kids and the ponies haven’t eaten the dog
Bear Grylls – good looking guy that also knows how to survive. Perfect!
What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done
I recently had a big birthday and my closest friends and I decided white water rafting in Wales would be a good way to celebrate…. It was very wet weekend.
